This week…

Grayling Foundation have been learning about money, the value of different coins and how to pay for items using 1ps, 2ps, 5ps and 10ps. They bought items from my shop, thinking about their number pairs to 10!

Have a go at this game below…

Traditional tales…

This week Grayling have been super story tellers for The Little Red Hen. This is something we cannot wait to show you next Wednesday morning for stay and play!

We have also been listening to other well known traditional tales and talking about the different versions. Here are some fun traditional tale songs…

We have also been creating some beautiful snail collages after learning about the artist Henri Mattisse! You will have to wait to see our artwork (report covers) but here is a story all about him…

Healthy week!

Grayling Foundation have had a great time for healthy week! We have been outside every morning for whole school dance, zumba and yoga!

We have also had martial arts from Forfit who shown us how to safely perform different kicks and defense skills. The children were amazing at this and Forfit do offer this as an afterschool club in Dorchester.

We made dens for animals in forest school with Mrs P and we finished off the week by baking some bread rolls just like The Little Red Hen!

We have had lots of discussions about how to look after our teeth, eating healthy foods and the role of a doctor.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy eating the bread rolls!

Animals…

We have had a great time this week seeing our school chickens and the pony, goats and kids from The Ranch! We learnt that goats have 4 stomaches, ponies are pregnant for a whole year and so much more!

Remember that it is healthy week after half term so please come to school wearing PE kits!

Have a lovely week off in the sunshine everyone 🙂

This week…

Grayling have had a busy week!

In PE we have been learning different relay races in preparation for sports day. We concentrated so much to control the small ball with the hockey sticks!

In maths we have been focusing on finding more and less using resources and number lines to help us.

Outside we have been busy planting different seeds and beginning to measure our runner beans!

In art we have been creating observational drawings of our flowers and experimenting with sound in a new circle time game!

Here are a few new songs that we have been singing along to…

Coronation Day!

Grayling Foundation have had a great day celebrating the king’s coronation! We have made beautiful nature crowns as well as crafty crowns and some fantastic crowns were also made at home! We talked lots about royal objects including the king’s crown, orb and throne and then we went on a royal hunt for these things outside. As part of our DT project, we studied some special buildings and then had a go at recreating them using different construction resources. Our favourtie building is Westminster Abbey. To finish the day, we went to a whole school assemly to celebrate this special day and show off our lovely crowns.

We hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend. Please try to squeeze in some reading 🙂
