Let it snow!
You might not be able to see it in the photo but we did have a quick run around in the snow today!
Stay and Master Maths!
It was lovely to see so many of you here yesterday! The maths app that you saw in action is One Minute Maths and is free!
More den building!
Mrs P teaches the class on a Wednesday afternoon and this week took the children outside to do some den building. They learnt how to make some different types of dens.
Children in Need!
Thank you for all your lovely donations and spottiness today!
PE
The children are enjoying sessions using the large apparatus in the hall.
Happy Diwali!
Today the children learnt all about the Hindu Festival of Light – Diwali! They also had a go at making some dot Rangoli patterns with chalk outside. Inside we had a lovely time painting and colouring in Rangoli patterns whilst listening to some amazing Indian music.
History
This week we started our new history topic linked to how lives have changed over the last 70 years. On Wednesday afternoon we focused on music, both the way it was listened to and the music that was popular during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The children loved getting up and having a dance to some real classics! We’ll be exploring more recent decades next week. Please do comment on music that you loved when you were teenagers and we can have a listen in school.
Fireworks!
Today the children learnt all about fire work safety – ask them what they can remember!
They enjoyed using chalk pastels to make their own firework pictures!
Weather Poems
We loved looking at the book “Meet the Weather”. The author uses wonderful words to describe different types of weather. The children found their favourite words and used them to write their own poems. They did a fantastic job!
